Shelley “The Dancing Queen” Duff – Formerly of “”The Shelley Duff Band” and “In The Saddle”
As DQ’s lead vocalist, Shelley steps out front captivating the audience by taking command of the microphone and belting out everyone’s favorite disco songs. Shelley was destined to be a performer…while pregnant with her, Shelley’s mother sang and danced around the house to the likes of Wilson Pickett and the Bee Gees. The journey was further set in motion when Shelley first watched the Wizard of Oz and just knew she had to have her own pair of ruby slippers. A trend setter in high school, Shelley could be seen sporting glitter and the latest in polyester jump suits. Singing wasn’t without it’s perils though…in a high school talent show rendition of “It’s Raining Men”, Shelley’s high note managed to shatter the glass trophy case causing the theft of her high school’s only state title trophy in women’s JV spelling. While living in Kentucky, Shelley had been invited to sing at the Kentucky Opry and performed at various venues. She has studied voice, drums and guitar and loves to write original music. Upon her return to Pittsburgh, Shelley finally found her dream gig with Dancing Queen and when she’s not performing, she can be seen riding her trusty thoroughbred steed, Laredo.
Ronnie “The Cap’n” Slam – Formerly of “Slam”, “Happenstance” and “The Rick Parker Band”. Along with lead and backing vocal, Ronnie also straps on his guitar while “fronting” the band and MCing the night away. You can catch Ronnie’s “Open Mike Policy” with his 12-string acoustic guitar sing along on weeknights. Ronnie has had formal training at the Creative and Performing Arts High School of Pittsburgh and Duquesne University School of Music in Pittsburgh. Ronnie also enjoys being a private guitar instructor.
Jon “Mr. Snuffleupagus” Replogle – Currently of “Flashback” and formerly of “Common Thread”, “Southern By Choice” and “Twilight Machine”. When he’s not out on the dance floor movin’ them feet, you can find Jon “getting his funk on” dancin’ behind the keyboards and bringin’ up the low end on vocals. Jon received a music degree from the University of Pittsburgh and has served as a classical vocal soloist and assistant director of local choir groups.
Jim “The Machine” Schultz – Formerly of “Sledgehammer”, “Mr Scary”, “Spectrum” and “Slam”. Jim provides the rock solid back beat and outstanding vocals for Dancing Queen. Jim has had formal musical training at the Creative and Performing Arts High School of Pittsburgh where he studied under area jazz great Roger Humphries.
George “Zeus” Marcinko – Currently of “The Grid” and formerly of “8th Street Rox”, “Airborne” and “The Skyliners”. As lead guitarist, George can rip out a solo and then settle back into a tasty groove with his wah wah pedal a pumpin’. You may occasionally catch George “sitting in” with such acts as “John McDonald & the Mango Men” or “Jill West & the Blues Attack” or you may have seen him “back in the day” in bands opening for “Jon Mayal”, “Triumph” or “Leslie West/Mountain”.
